Microsoft Releases The RDP Specifications To The Public, part 2

Microsoft’s step of releasing the specifications of various protocols and formats to the public (including RDP) which I reported on two-days ago, is part of its new Open Source Interoperability Initiative. You can find more information about this initiative at its FAQ page. It is worth noting that not everybody is excited about this step by Microsoft. As far as I can tell the main complaint is that Microsoft only protect ‘noncommercial’ development, and retains the right to charge for use of its patents in commercial products.
