My BriForum London 2012 Presentation - HTML5: The New Application Platform

At BriForum London 2012 I presented a session titled HTML5: The New Application Platform. Click here to view the presentation slides. This is a topic that I’m very passionate about. I have been involved in the development of several Rich Internet Applications over that past 15 years, the latest one – Ericom AccessNow – being the most exciting. I believe that in most cases HTML5 is the preferable platform for app development at this time, and for the foreseeable future.
As an interesting bit of dogfooding, I created the presentation itself as an HTML5 page, using a Google template, rather than using more conventional means, i.e. PowerPoint. Beside being itself a great example of the power of HTML5, it makes the presentation easily accessible from HTML5 browsers on any device. (Note that IE9 is not sufficiently HTML5 compatible, and as a result cannot properly display this presentation.), It also enabled me to embed interactive HTML5 demos directly within the presentation itself.
If you enjoy this presentation, please vote for me to present it again at BriForum Chicago 2012. If selected, I promise to expand it with additional HTML5 features and demos.
