Looking at the referrer logs for this blog I see that a number of people are searching for Citrix and WPF. Given that, I thought it would be helpful to link to the following information from Citrix:
In short current versions of presentation servers don’t support WPF based applications yet. We are working on adding such support soon. Stay tuned for more official announcements.
As I understand part of the problem is WPF itself and part has to do with lack of support for 16bit and 32bit color depths in ICA.
So what about PowerTerm WebConnect support for WPF? PowerTerm WebConnect utilizes RDP as its remoting protocol. Since RDP supports WPF so does PowerTerm WebConnect. RDP has had 16bit color for some time, and RDP6 adds 32bit color support. That being said, there are two caveats:
- WPF support is different than WPF Remoting. Unfortunately WPF Remoting is disabled in Windows Server 2008 Beta 3.
- PowerTerm WebConnect may not properly display non-rectangular or transparent windows in Seamless Windows mode.
