Here at Ericom, we’ve known for some time now that Ericom Shield, our Remote Browser Isolation solution, is something to brag about. And we’ve been looking forward to the opportunity to show it off at what may be the world's largest security conference and exhibition – RSA Conference 2018 in San Francisco – to enterprises, finance companies, healthcare organizations, government agencies and other organizations that are committed to empowering secure internet access as well as productivity (that is to say, all smart organizations!)
But what we didn’t anticipate was that so many recognized security experts would discover the power of Ericom Shield and start spreading the word for us, even before RSA. Just last month, two leading analyst firms covered Ericom Shield in their flagship reports, highlighting the effectiveness of the solution in combatting known and unknown web-borne threats including ransomware, drive-by downloads, zero-day attacks, and crypto-jacking.
In their March 2018 report entitled “Innovation Insight for Remote Browser Isolation,” Gartner identifies remote browser isolation as a “key preventative strategy in [its] Adaptive Security Architecture for attack prevention” and names Ericom Software as a Representative Remote Browser Isolation Provider. Moreover, Gartner analyst Neil MacDonald predicts that “through 2022, organizations that isolate high-risk internet browsing and access to URLs in email will experience a 70% reduction in attacks that compromise end-user systems.”
At around the same time, Ovum analysts put Ericom at the forefront for secure browsing with full-feature coverage of Ericom Shield in their well-regarded “On the Radar” series. In the report, Ovum recommends implementing Ericom Shield as an additional layer of protection against malware that “penetrates and attaches itself to business systems via inadequately protected browsers”, in conjunction with firewalls, URL filtering and other traditional protection tools.
Key advantages of Ericom Shield that they singled out for special mention include its:
- Transparent user experience, which leverages standard local browser functionality, including bookmarks, cookies, clipboard, and printing facilities and maintains all normal user functionality
- Centrally managed design which minimizes IT overhead by requiring “no on-browser or on-device software”
- Pre-integrated content disarm and reconstruction (CDR) tools, which sanitize files of potential malware before they are downloaded from the internet to endpoints.
Come see for yourself what all the excitement is about! You can find us at RSA Conference 2018 at Booth #2519, South Expo. Stop by the booth to see Ericom Shield in action or beat the crowds by emailing us now to schedule a private demo.
PS: Stay tuned for more exciting announcements about Ericom Shield during the show!
